    The 2024 Indian Premier League (also known as IPL 17 and branded as TATA IPL 2024) was the 17th edition of the Indian Premier League, a franchise Twenty20 cricket league in India, organized by the Board of Control for Cricket in India. The tournament featured ten teams competing in 74 matches from 22 March to 26 May 2024. It was held across 13 cities in India, with Chennai hosting the opening ceremony and the final. Chennai Super Kings were the defending champions, having won their fifth title during the previous season after beating Gujrat Titans.

In the final, Kolkata Knight Riders defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by 8 wickets to win their third IPL title.

IPL Points Table 2024: In the final team standings at the end of the league stage of IPL 2024, Kolkata Knight Riders finished top of the table with 20 points. Sunrisers Hyderabad with 17 points, same as Rajasthan Royals, pipped them to take the second position because of a better run-rate. Royal Challengers Bengaluru beat Chennai Super Kings to register their sixth win on the trot and qualified to the playoffs. RCB's turnaround has been brilliant, rising from the bottom of the table to enter the knockout stage of the IPL by finishing fourth in the team standings.

CHAMPIONS OF TATA IPL 2024



The IPL 2024 final saw KKR defeat SRH by 8 wickets to lift the trophy. Venkatesh Iyer’s stellar half-century and Andre Russell’s all-round performance were pivotal in KKR’s victory. SRH’s decision to bat first after winning the toss backfired as they were bowled out for a mere 113 runs, the lowest total in IPL finals history.

ORANGE CAP



The race for the coveted Orange Cap in IPL 2024 was a tight one, but ultimately Virat Kohli emerged victorious. He amassed a staggering 741 runs throughout the season, solidifying his position as the leading run-scorer. While Kohli dominated the charts, Ruturaj Gaikwad wasn't far behind, finishing the season in second place with 583 runs. Rounding out the top three is Riyan Parag of Rajasthan Royals, who impressed with 573 runs and a well-deserved third-place finish.
